Louis Vuitton Key Pouch in Damier Ebene

I have been wanting to get the LV key pouch (Clés) for quite some time. I even looked at it last summer when we were in France, but I couldn’t find it in the Damier Ebene print, and since this little thing is quite hard to come by these days, I have been keeping an eye out for it on the pre-loved market.

The condition was listed as “fair,” and yes, you can see some wear on it, but it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I am very pleased with my purchase and now I don’t need to worry about my keys scratching the insides of my handbags.

You don’t have to use this for keys, it easily fits a few cards and some change, as well, so if you want to use it as a tiny wallet, that works fine as well. I have already used it as such – I just pop my debit card in there, along with my keys, whenever I need to pop down to the store really quickly and it is so handy and small.

New in: Personalized luggage tag from Louis Vuitton

I picked up a recent purchase today – for some time, I have been wanting to personalize my Neverfull in Damier Azur, to make it a bit more fun. Luggage tags are, in my opinion, an easy way to decorate your bag without it being too over the top. But you can’t just go into Louis Vuitton and buy luggage tags – they only come with certain bags or maybe if you have a really good relationship with an SA, they might let you buy a luggage tag.

So I turned to the trusty old pre-loved market and had my eye on a few luggage tags, but they were pretty overpriced and I just decided against getting one. But then, out of nowhere, a luggage tag hot stamped with the Helsinki Cathedral popped up on Vestiaire Collective..!

The Vachetta leather on my bag is a bit darker than that of the luggage tag, but that will even out sooner or later.

Now, I know it is a bit difficult to see the hot stamping in the pictures, but up close it is super cute! I also think that the pink goes great with the Damier Azur print, and just adds that extra bit of accent colour to my bag. I thought it was very fitting to get the Helsinki Cathedral on a luggage tag, since I am in fact from Finland.

Review: Chanel WOC (Wallet on chain)

This is a fist impressions review on my Chanel Wallet on chain (WOC). I purchased this bag at the end of November last year, so I have not had this bag long enough to give an in depth review yet, but I still want to give you my initial thoughts on it.

This classic Flap WOC is from the 14th series, dating it to around 2010-2011. Considering its age, it is in fenomenal condition. The only minor flaw on it that I have been able to note, is that the leather strap is a bit worn in one area and that is something that I might have to get fixed in the future. But a the moment, it is not a huge deal. I just have to keep an eye on it, so it doesn’t get worse.

This bag has built in compartments for cards, soyou don’t actually have to wear a separate wallet. It also has a zipped compartment, which is great for security.
The zipper on the inside of the flap reveals a pocket that actually goes all the way down the back of the bag. Very practical if you need to keep notes or paperwork extra secure.

This is obviously quite a small bag, but you can fit enough stuff in it if you are going out to dinner or if you are just running errands and need the very essentials. Your cards, some cash, keys, a phone and a makeup product or two will easily fit inside the WOC.

On the back, there is a pocket, just as on the Classic Flap bags. I honestly don’t use this pocket at all, I am a little scared of stretching the pocket out and make the bag look wonky… also, I just don’t see a need for a pocket on the back.

Compared to a Classic Flap, this bag is made to be worn crossbody. It has a very generous strap length, that you can shorten by wrapping the strap around the flap. It is so comfortable to wear, super light weight and you don’t even feel like you are wearing a bag. I have worn this bag to clubs and it is so comfortable, especially if you like to dance and don’t want a heavy bag on your shoulder. You can also tuck the chain inside the bag and wear it as a clutch, if you want to. I guess that is the only downside to this bag – conspired to the YSL WOC that I also own and that is very similar: The chain is removable on the YSL WOC, but not on the Chanel WOC. Something to keep in mind….

I am personally really happy that I got the WOC in the camel/tan colour, because it makes it different from my black Classic Flap. If my WOC was also black, I think I would feel like the two bags were too similar. The Classic Flap in small and the WOC are not too different when it comes to what you can fit inside them, but the fact that I have them in two different colours and hardwares, it makes me feel like I have some more variation to my collection.

I wouldn’t mind getting another WOC in the future, maybe in a bright colour, because I think it is a great and versatile small bag that is super comfortable, timeless and chic.

Comparison: Chanel Classic Flap, Wallet-on-chain and le Boy bag

Since I ow three very different Chanel bags, in different sizes, I thought I would do a blogpost comparing the different sizes and styles and talk about pros and cons with each bag. Mostly pros, because these are all bags that I love and cherish – but if you are thinking of getting a Chanel bag and are interested in knowing my thoughts on the different models and sizes, keep reading!

From left to right: Chanel le Boy in New Medium, Chanel Classic Flap in small and Chanel WOC

I bought my Classic Flap first, about a year ago. The reason I decided to get it was pretty simple: it is a classic, timeless model that never will go out of style. It is a bag that has stood the test of time and for that reason alone, I think it’s a great bag to go for.

My Chanel Classic Flap is in lambskin, in the size small. This size is quite rare – the most popular size for the Classic Flap is the “medium/large,” which is slightly bigger than the small. The reason I decided to go for the small was just because it is fairly rare, and also because I knew I was going to use this bag as an evening bag and not as an everyday bag. I personally don’t love the Classic Flap in the Jumbo and Maxi sizes, I think they look too massive. I prefer the Classic Flap in a dainty, smaller version – but that is my personal preference.

The Classic Flap has the iconic woven chain, copied by so many brands. I cannot wear this bag crossbody – the chain is simply not long enough. (Doing some research, I have found that the medium/large would also not work as a crossbody bag for me.) I mostly wear this bag on one shoulder and you can choose to double up the strap or just use one long strap.

As you open the turn lock closure, this is what you see inside. At one point, Chanel made this bag both as single and double flaps. Nowadays though, it is only made as a double flap, and I have to say that I definitely prefer the double flap style. It does take away a bit of the space inside the bag, but the double flap is so much more beautiful and it also helps the bag retain its shape.

Again, I personally use my Classic Flap as an evening bag and since getting it, I have honestly not even thought about getting another black evening bag.

Next up we have the WOC (Wallet on chain). The WOC was never really on my radar until after getting my Classic Flap, when I realized I couldn’t wear it crossbody. I then started eyeing the WOC and decided to get it in a lighter colour, because I thought it would be a great, casual bag for spring and summer. My WOC is in the Classic Flap style, but you can get the WOC in lots of different styles and variations.

My WOC is close to ten years old (I got it pre-loved), but still in great condition. It is in caviar leather and even though the caviar has softened quite a lot, it still is really durable. My WOC also has the silver hardware, which makes it more casual, in my opinion.
Just like the Classic Flap, it has a pocket on the bag but it does not have a turn lock closure on the front like the Classic Flap – instead, it has a simple snap button closure.

Inside the WOC there are quite a few card slots, there is a small zipper compartment and one bigger compartment.

To be honest, my WOC fits just about as much as my Classic Flap. The reason is that the Classic Flap has the double flap that takes out a bit of space inside the bag, while the WOC is a lot more “open.”
I don’t want to put too much stuff into my WOC, though, because I don’t want to stretch it out too much. But I can easily fit my phone, some cards, a powder compact, a lipstick, my keys and some cash into this bag. perfect if you’re on the go and need to be hands free.

Compared to the Classic Flap, this bag is made to be worn crossbody. It has a generous strap length, that you can sorten by wrapping the strap around the flap. It is so comfortable to wear, super light weight and you don’t even feel like you are wearing a bag.

And last, but definitely not least, the Chanel le Boy bag. Mine is in the New Medium size, in calf skin and ruthenium hardware. It is the largest of my three Chanel bags and definitely the most user friendly if you need to carry more than 2 or 3 things in your hand bag.

The Boy bag is one of the more modern classics of the Chanel fashion house, and even though the price point is very high, it is not an all-leather bag. The interior is lined with fabric, which I honestly don’t mind, but it is a bit annoying that you pay so much for a bag that doesn’t even have leather interior…
The inside is very simple, with one big compartment and a small zipped compartment. There is no pockets on the outside of the bag.

The chain is different to the Classic Flap style, in the sense that it doesn’t have the woven chain. Instead, part of the strap is a chunky chain and then you have a lather strap part that helps the bag sit more comfortably on your shoulder. The strap is also adjustable.
Some people, who have long hair, have raised the issue of their hair getting caught in the buttons on the leather part of the strap, but I have really long hair and that has never happened to me, so I have not experienced that issue.
Another thing about the Boy is that it looks like it would be a heavy bag. It’s not. It’s very light and comfortable to wear!

The Chanel Boy has a different lock than the Classic Flap.

The Boy bag can be a lot more casual than the Classic Flap, but that all depends on the colour and hardware that you choose. I have to say that I have been loving my Boy bag a lot more than I thought I would, and that is most likely because of the navy colour and ruthenium hardware. I just love the combo, it makes the bag so effortless and casual and a lot more edgy than my Classic Flap.

I wanted to show you a size comparison from the side, as well, showing the width of the bags, side by side. Now, obviously the width varies depending on what sized bag you go for – but still. The actual shape of the Boy bag means that in general, it is a lot more roomy than the Classic Flap.

Whichever bag you decide to go for; the Classic Flap, the WOC or the Boy, you are getting a timeless piece that will stay with you for the rest of your life. I don’t think any of these bags are going to go out of style, so it really is only up to you to decide what style, size and colour you want to go for!

Saturday eye candy + new coat

I have been on the hunt for a light coloured wool coat for some time, and I have really been wanting one from Max Mara – I think their coats are absolutely stunning! However, they are not available where I live and I refuse to order them online, because I am very tall and I need to try on items before purchasing them – especially if I’m going to pay 700 euros for an item.

So when I found this coat (made from recycled wool!) from Selected Femme at a decent price, I decided to get it. It is super light weight and so chic and stylish. It retailed for 230 euros ( so not cheap, by any means…) but with a Christmas gift card, I ended up paying 130 euros for it – which is not bad for a wool coat that is of good quality.

I think it looks really nice with my Boy bag, but I also think it will look amazing with my beige Chanel WOC!
