I am not a massive fan of the collaborations and collections that Louis Vuitton has done over the years. I feel like they often look tacky and tasteless. For example, the recent cats and dogs themed collection was really not my thing. Neither was the Marc Jacobs graffiti style bags. And who can ever forget the “Masters” collection from 2017. Jesus Christ that was horrible…
On the other hand, I absolutely LOVE the watercolour Speedys from the collaboration with Richard Prince and I do think that the Neverfull rose collection is pretty darn beautiful.
But the collection in collaboration with Virgil Abloh (Off-White) has left me stunned. These bags and accessories are soooo up my alley!! They’re masculine, clean and still edgy. Who cares if they’re part of the men’s collection, I’d buy them all!
I think this collaboration might turn out to be the most successful one that Louis Vuitton has done, since the collaboration with Supreme. I really hope that I will be able to get my hands on one of these pieces one day.
